Assignment #1-Create Your Own Primary Source

    • Due No Due Date
    • Points 15
    • Submitting a text entry box

Please read the entire passage and instruction below and complete the given assignment.

    Total Estimated Time: 30 Min

As you have been well versed in our history class, primary sources provide a valuable lens for historians to study the past. If we did not have primary sources, we would be left with  almost no tools to understand or interpret the major events in history. And congratulations, you are living in a major event in history! Your task for this assignment is to  create your own primary source. Remember, a primary source is ANYTHING that is created during the time period historians are studying. For this particular assignment, your primary source needs to be written in the space below. You can choose to write a diary entry, a letter, a text message (as long as it is the appropriate length) etc to describe your experiences so far. You are welcome to use your own voice and personality in the writing assignment but be sure to include information about your experience with the virus, school shut down, etc, that historians in the future would find useful. You need to write a minimum of 500 words about your experiences. (Keep in mind, I do read these and will be looking to see that you took the assignment seriously.)  I would love if you included positive experiences in your primary sources as well. It is always helpful to notice the good when things seem negative and scary.

    Good luck recording history!!
